Executive Profile: Kevin Weiberg, Vice President, University Planning & Development, Big Ten Network

Athens, GA (Dec 9, 2007) - Kevin Weiberg is Vice President, University Planning & Development at The Big Ten Network. It is a little bit surprising that the Commissioner of a major conference like the Big 12 would leave that post for a new network. This is his profile as published by The Big Ten Network.

In June 2007, Kevin Weiberg left his post as commissioner of the Big 12 Conference to join the Big Ten Network. As Big 12 commissioner, Weiberg has had a prominent role in collegiate athletics, serving terms as coordinator of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS), as a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee and as chair of the Division I-A Collegiate Commissioners' Association.

He also is on the board of directors of the Collegiate Women's Sports Award and the women's basketball officiating consortium. During his tenure, Big 12 teams have won 27 NCAA championships. And in fiscal year 2006-07, the conference distributed a record $106 million to its member institutions.
